Frequently asked questions
How Mirrorlark works, what it needs and what to do when something goes wrong.
How do I mirror my iPhone or iPad to my Fire TV?
- Open Mirrorlark on your Fire TV and make sure your iPhone or iPad is on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Control Center on your iPhone or iPad (swipe down from the top-right corner).
- Tap Screen Mirroring and choose Mirrorlark.
Your screen and its sound appear on the TV. To stop, open Control Center again and tap Stop Mirroring.
Which Fire TV devices does Mirrorlark work on?
Mirrorlark needs a Fire TV running Fire OS 8 or newer. That covers recent Fire TV Sticks, Fire TV Cubes and Fire TV smart TVs. To check yours, go to Settings > My Fire TV > About on the Fire TV.
Fire TV models that run Vega OS instead of Fire OS can't run Android apps, so Mirrorlark isn't available for them.
Can I play music from my iPhone through the TV?
Yes. In your music app, tap the AirPlay button and choose Mirrorlark. The audio plays through your TV or sound system, and you can change the volume from your iPhone or iPad.
How much does Mirrorlark cost?
You can try it free for 30 minutes of mirroring. After that, one payment of $0.99 (or the equivalent price Amazon shows in your currency) unlocks Mirrorlark forever. There is no subscription and there are no ads.
I reinstalled the app (or got a new Fire TV). Do I have to pay again?
No. The unlock is tied to your Amazon account. Each time Mirrorlark starts, it asks the Amazon Appstore for your past purchases, so the unlock comes back after a reinstall and on any Fire TV signed in to the same Amazon account.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are made and handled by the Amazon Appstore, so refunds go through Amazon's customer service. If a refund is granted, the unlock is removed from the app.
Mirrorlark doesn't show up in Screen Mirroring. What can I do?
- Make sure Mirrorlark is open on the TV.
- Check that the iPhone or iPad and the Fire TV are on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks often keep devices from seeing each other.
- Turn off any VPN on the iPhone or iPad while you mirror.
- Restart the Fire TV and your Wi-Fi router, then try again.

Can I stop other people on my Wi-Fi from mirroring to my TV?
Yes. On the Fire TV, open Settings > Require a PIN for new devices. A new iPhone or iPad then has to enter the PIN shown on the TV the first time it connects. Devices that already entered it are remembered; use Forget paired devices to clear the list.
Why is a video black on the TV when I mirror it?
Some streaming apps don't allow their movies and shows to be mirrored, so the TV shows a black picture while the rest of your screen mirrors normally. This is set by the app you are watching, not by Mirrorlark.
Does my screen go over the internet?
No. Your iPhone or iPad sends the picture and sound straight to the Fire TV over your own Wi-Fi network. Mirrorlark has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and nothing you mirror is recorded or saved. See the privacy policy.
What are skins?
Skins change how Mirrorlark's own screens look: Midnight, Ember, Aurora, Paper and Arcade. Choose one in Settings > Skin. A skin never covers or tints the picture you mirror.
Is Mirrorlark open source?
Yes. Mirrorlark is free software under the GNU General Public License v3, built on UxPlay and other open-source projects. See licenses and source code for the full notices and how to get the source.
